LAKE WORTH- Five state championships. Fifteen regional championships. Thirty-seven district championships. Over Trinity Christian Academy's 28 year history, winning has become a part of the fabric of the school. As the Warriors prepare for the 2019-2020 school year, state titles are the bar for success.
"We've proven that this school can win state titles in multiple sports," stated new athletic director Derek Chirch. "If we want to continue the tradition that was built over the years, it starts with a championship mindset."
Trinity's first state titles came in 2006 and 2007 as the Warriors won championships in boys' soccer. A year later, TCA brought home the state championship in girls' basketball. After an eight year drought in state title games, Trinity won back-to-back championships in baseball in 2016 and 2017.
Last year, the baseball team won the district championship before being eliminated in the regional championship by Miami Christian.
Individually, the Warriors have brought home numerous medals in swimming and diving. Most recently, Chade Nercisio won an individual state title in 2018.
"We have a very talented group of athletes and a great coaching staff in place," said Chirch. "Our goal has to championships, and I'm confident we will be hanging more banners in the future."
